Dr. Joseph A. Abboud is a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and a Shoulder and Elbow specialist at The Rothman Institute at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
Dr. Abboud also serves as Senior Vice President for the Rothman Institute.
Dr. Abboud completed his medical school training at Georgetown University and his residency at the University of Pennsylvania.
He went on to complete a fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow surgery at the University of Pennsylvania as well.
He has enjoyed being in practice in the Philadelphia region for over 15 years.
He has been caring for patients in the Delaware Valley, Philadelphia, and South Jersey since the late 90’s.
His goal is to always provide each patient with exceptional personalized care.
He focus his practice on the operative as well as non-operative treatment of shoulder and elbow disorders.
He perform a wide variety of surgical procedures on the shoulder and elbow including arthroscopic surgery (eg. rotator cuff repairs, instability surgery) comprehensive fracture care, as well as shoulder and elbow replacement(arthroplasty) procedures for arthritis.
